Here are a few of the most common types in use today:
- DUBTURBO VSTi is an 8-octave beast loaded with samples ready-made for any musical genre, with an emphasis on dubstep, house, electronic, hip-hop, and reggae. For use with both Macs and PCs, this is a great foundation on which you can lay your own beats and melodies.
- DUBTURBO Samploid for PC is a sampler/rompler for use with your .wav files. You can load your own folder of .wav files into Samploid and have instant control over all of the samples in it with the control keys. You can also use Samploid to keyspan one sample across multiple octaves.
- The Norbox is a mastering and effects bundle for PC use. It has a 66 band popper, 30-band EQ, a broad range of electrifying effects and strong set of filters. It also boasts chaos pad for each ear (as well as one for both ears together).
- The aptly named WubWub Synth for PC use is a 4-oscillator synth. The WubWub can mimic almost any musical instrument, but its real claim to fame is the amazing low end wobble (wubwub) sound you can generate with its chaos pad and effects rack.
